Exploring French Destinations: Where To Move And Why
Posted on 5th June 2024 at 07:54
Many people recently have decided to leave the UK and live overseas. This may be for any number of reasons, and most of which have nothing to do with their view of the political situation. The weather in the UK is one reason, especially after the winter and spring that we have just had. It would be so lovely to live somewhere in the sun.
One of the top five choices is France. This may be because it is a big country and has a range of different climates. It is also our nearest neighbour, which means that, if you have family and friends still living in the UK and want or need to visit them, it’s a very simple matter to get across the Channel either by ship or by plane.
The French have a very relaxed view of life. Just to begin with, they have a 35-hour working week, so if you have to work you will have more time for yourself. They also have no less than 11 national holidays, and most workers have between 30 and 40-days holiday a year on top of those.
In The South, In The Mountains, Or On The Atlantic Coast
You can choose whether to live in the South with the Mediterranean atmosphere, in the mountains where the weather gets very cold in the winter, or on the Atlantic coast where it is mild and sunny. There are big cities and there are tiny villages. You might want to live in one of the wine-growing regions. In that case you can choose from Bordeaux, Burgundy, Languedoc, Champagne, the Loire Valley, Alsace, Rhône, Provence, and even Corsica. If wine is your “thing”, in all these places it is on your doorstep.
Maybe you enjoy skiing: lots of people do. There are no less than 248 ski resorts in France with 3,113 ski lifts between them!
Everyone knows that the food in France is beyond compare. This is because French chefs will only ever use the finest ingredients that are in season - but that doesn’t mean it’s expensive. On the contrary, eating out is very reasonable.
Of course, if you have decided that France is for you, then you will need a removal company to France. At Movers International we have over 30 years of experience in moving people to France, so we have the knowledge and skills that you need to get you to your destination, whether that is on the Med or in a tiny village in the mountains.
Not only that, but when you need a removal company to France for small items, we have a weekly service to France, so we can put them on one of those vans, thus saving you a lot of money. It’s the most cost-effective way to get them there.
