If you are moving to France, there are a lot of things to take into consideration. One of the first things is to take into account whether or not you have sufficient money not just to move, but to live for several months in France. Even if you have a job to go to you are not going to get a pay cheque until the end of the first month, but that is the least of your problems. When you move abroad there are always things that you haven’t though about or things that crop up, which mean that you have to buy bits and pieces that you haven’t allowed for. The best advice for moving abroad, even if it is only across the Channel, is to be certain that you have enough to live on for six months.
Moving home can be one of the most stressful things that we ever do. However, it is one thing moving across town but another moving across the country. Even more complicated is moving to another country: not only is it further away, but you are moving to somewhere with a completely different way of life. Furthermore, in some cases, you may not even speak the language!
If you are thinking of moving to Portugal, it is a great choice for a retirement home. If you have been to the Algarve on holiday, you will know that the weather is great in the summer with temperatures reaching up to 40°C in the south, and averaging 18°C throughout the year. However, in December and January the temperature can dip below freezing in the central and northern part of the country, and even the Algarve can get a bit of frost and snow.
