Many Britons have gone on holiday to Portugal during the course of their lives, and, indeed, many go there every year. This is especially true in the case of the Algarve on the Atlantic coast where you can have two weeks of solid sun, and something which appeals to many men, and that is golf. The Algarve has 35 golf courses, including some of the best in Europe.
Of course, there is also the food and wine – and port. There are plenty of different types of fish at the local fish markets such as bream, sea bass, oysters, clams, mussels, and more. Not only that, but the cost of living is also good compared with the UK.

There are also great facilities for water sports such as surfing, windsurfing, parasailing, sport fishing, yacht charters, and sailing courses, with water-skiing, and scuba diving as well. There are also theme parks which are ideal for the kids, along with facilities for tennis, padel (which is similar to tennis), squash, bowls, mountain biking, blo-karting, and even microlite flying!

A Holiday Home

So, it is no wonder that many people choose to buy a holiday home in the Algarve and rent it out on short term lets. This gives you a second income which will pay for the cost of the home, and at the same time you can use it yourself whenever you want to. What’s not to like?

If you are thinking of buying a holiday home yourself, or even moving to the Algarve permanently (many people do when they retire), then you will need our services at Movers International for moving furniture to Portugal. Obviously, this will be necessary if you are going to move there, full time, but many people who buy a holiday home there will furnish it with British furniture.

You may, of course, buy some of the furniture there, and only need small removals to Portugal for a few pieces that you have purchased here. That is fine because we have regular runs to the Algarve every couple of weeks so you can use one of those for small removals to Portugal and save money, because you will only need a part load.
