We have said this before at Movers International, yet it remains true, that one of the most stressful experiences that any of us have in our lives is moving home. And yet, on average we move every seven years!
It’s fact that many people in the UK would love to move to Spain. This is because it is one of the most popular countries that we go to for our summer holidays, and everyone loves the “manana” relaxed attitude that the Spanish have to pretty much everything. There is also the fact that, if you move to Southern Spain, the sun shines for about 320 days every year. That compares very favourably with Northern Ireland and the West of Scotland.
One of the most important things to do before moving into a new home is, rather obviously, to find the perfect new home to move into. It is important to have a home with the features that you want, the right number of rooms, the location (is it convenient to schools, shops, and so on?), local amenities, crime rate, etc. This is vitally important when you move home in the UK, but if you are moving overseas, it is just as important.
Spain is one of the most popular destinations for people from the UK who are retiring. This is because the country is possibly the most popular that Britons use for their holidays, many people going back there year after year. So, it is not surprising that, when it comes to retirement, they choose to make Spain their final home where the sun shines for most of the year – in the South, anyway - and the way of life is easy going. Not only that, but the cost of living is lower than in the UK too.
Moving abroad to another country can be one of the most exciting experiences of your life, and at the same time it can also be one of the most stressful. In fact, it is said that moving home is the most stressful thing that we ever do, because there are just so many things that need to be attended to. It’s bad enough moving across Preston or across Lancashire but moving internationally is even more so because you can be thousands of miles away.
