Healthcare in Spain is similar to that in the UK, and most of it is free. However, you do have to have been living in Spain for five years or be employed there or be paying into their public health insurance scheme. As in the UK, you have to pay for prescriptions.
If you want to take your car with you, you can drive it with UK number plates for 6 months. After that time, you are considered a Spanish resident and have to register it with the Spanish authorities and obtain a Spanish number plate.
